no regrets

That’s exactly what I am lately. I’ve just finished my first full week of work and it’s knocked me for six. I actually started the week prior, but a bug hit me and I had the last two days off. Not a great start admittedly but like they said, I can’t help vomiting can I?!!!

It’s not exactly a career move job, but it’s something, and its helps with so many things that it is indeed worth it. I am contributing once again financially, I feel better about myself, I’m meeting some new people and have a never ending supply of fresh mushrooms. Can’t get much fresher than picking them myself can I?! That’s what I’m doing. Picking mushrooms. Believe it or not I’m actually enjoying it a fair bit too! And doing ok apparently….

I’ve been elected the Secretary of the P&C too. Had our AGM last Monday and it was great to see such enthusiasm and numbers. Will be interesting to see if those numbers stay so high, only time will tell I guess. I’m awfully excited about our new executive committee and the ideas and passion that have already come out. Watch this space for news! The whole DGR thing has been put on hold while we sort out some administration issues that unfortunately are the legacy of the past. We WILL get there though and at this stage I have the new P&C behind me 100% in my endeavor to change the world. Again, watch this space for new

Zoe is doing extremely well in her new school. I could not be happier with how they are catering to her needs. It all just happens so effortlessly! I haven’t had to fight, or prompt or get in their faces. I feel much better going to work each day k nowing that I don’t really need to be SEEN a lot around the school in order for her needs to be met. Her teachers suggested some grade 3-6 competitions coming up in the near future so we’ve entered her in those and it will prove an interesting exercise I think. The trick will be teaching her to leave the tougher questions and keep moving through the others as the competitions are time limited. As they are also looking for the best of the best, there is no doubt that there will be questions that 99% of the entrants will struggle with! Oh well, again, time will tell and already the teachers are looking at strategies to help her with it all and will send home some samples so we can go through how they work at home.

All in all, life is busy, and tiring at the moment as both my body and soul adjust to the new routine. It’s not unusual for me to be falling asleep on the couch at 8.30pm - my alarm goes off at 5am and as we are all well aware I DON’T DO MORNINGS!!! I’m kinda hoping that this place, and you guys, will forgive me for my oh so neglectful nature of late and realise that I don’t want to totally abandon either of you, despite all evidence to the contrary.

I hope that the following photo will make you laugh as much as it did me. I nearly wet myself each and every time I look at it! Zoe had a birthday party last weekend so I took along the trusty camera and ended up being the unofficial photographer. and took over 300 shots. Well I got all the kids together for a group shot and took some nice ones, then asked them to pull funny faces. This is what Zoe came up with…..
