piccies!

Well it seems as though there is a little demand for some pics of our new surroundings. So of course I’m only happy to oblige. Any excuse to get the old camera out :xeyes:

We now have REAL internet, not that crappy dial up stuff. It’s like using one of those old phones without a touch pad I tell ya…archaic I think is the word I’m looking for! Now this doesn’t necessarily mean I’m back on deck as yet. We have Aidan here at the moment, who by the way was all excited as he went on his first ever TRAIN ride yesterday. I’m not sure who was more excited. Him, or Tony for actually being present at a FIRST. There is just so much he misses in Aidan’s life, it was nice to watch him experience something that his ex hasn’t. Not because I’m nasty, but because she gets so damn much…but I’m not going there. Not now, not ever. It would bring out a side of me that not many have seen, nor would you want to.

Anyway, onto more important matters. Why I still won’t be blogging as much just yet. It’s still school holidays for at least another week here so we have two kiddies to entertain and with Tony home too I simply don’t have time to myself, not even the toilet it seems! Someone usually pops their head in even while I’m in there. Oh well, truth be told I wouldn’t have it any other way. So between the parties in the toilet and learning our way round and cementing ourselves as our own little family, I won’t be here as much as we’d all like! But, I’m thinking most of you will be fine with that. Your probably a bit like me and would prefer to see me out having a life…even if it’s only briefly until next week when Aidan goes home, Tony goes back to work and Zoe heads to school at which point I’ll probably just sit on that damn toilet for an hour because no one has interrupted me so I’m obviously not done yet….

But enough dribble, lets move on to the photos. I’ve added two new albums to my ever growing collection over at picasa, which can be reached via the links underneath the photos below. One of them is from yesterday when we headed into the city and into the powerhouse museum. A good time was had by all and we are looking at becoming yearly members and/or contributors so we can go whenever we want. The kids loved it and there is too much to see and do in one visit. They have different exhibitions throughout the year so whilst the majority stays the same, there is always something else going on.

From Trip to the City

Not all the photos are from in the museum obviously, clearly the one above isn’t! I was like a kid in a candy store with all the old buildings and architecture around the city and I honestly cannot wait to head back in there with the camera an just take photos. Nothing else. Just wander around and take as many pictures as my camera will hold. The contrasts are simply amazing. The old and the new. The rich and the poor. The nice and the nasty…I am really looking forward to it.

Now the following photo is of the sign which made my stomach do flip flops on our first drive into North Richmond. It meant we were nearly ‘home’. Of course at that stage we hadn’t seen home yet, but it was a really surreal moment. Hard to explain. It’s the place where we get to create our new lives. Together. We get to create OUR memories. Together. But that line of thought is a whole other post that I’m hoping to get round to before the weekend. The rest of the photos in that album are just random shots from either our place, or around town. Oh, any with cows in them are taken from Zoe’s bedroom, through a flyscreen so don’t shoot me for the poor quality! I’ll add more to this one as I take them…

From Home Sweet Home

Anyway, please feel free to leave comments on the photos. In fact I encourage it! Let me know your favorites, what you like, and what you’d like to see more of. I’m working on a ‘theme’ idea at the moment. One of the photography sites suggested you pick a theme to help you take more photos. By having one, then you are automatically on the lookout for something in particular rather than just looking at everything. Some people choose colors, others choose shapes, or numbers. One person I saw chose three and whenever she saw three of something together she’d snap them. It ended up being quite a collection. Well I think I have come up with my theme. And I’ll bet you never guess what it is….

Take care peoples, I’ll try and play catch up while I’m making some muffins and bikkies for our foray into the city again tomorrow…not sure how successful I’ll be. With the catching up that is, not the cooking…I’m getting quite good at the cooking. In fact just the other day I Kellyised a recipe for snickerdoodles that had the kids, and Tony, eating them faster than I could bake them :coffee:

Lovin’ the pics of Tony and Aidan! Just precious….I mean i love them all but it’s so nice to see them together and to know they’ll see more of each other…..I really do have to hope Tash has a girl hey?? We need to try and even the numbers up a little now that we have ANOTHER boy in the family….not holding out a lot of hope though

I try and get as many pics as I can of them together. For us and him. I’m going to take some and get them printed before he goes to take home. As for there being too many boys in the family, it doesn’t really matter, one of us girls is worth two boys, so we are still winning
    Cheers, Kelly

i liked the lights pics, and (although out of focus) was drawn to the one of the old fashioned clocks on the station set…could the theme be time?????

It wasn’t time, but I like that one! Might just pinch it….hehehehe As for that shot being out of focus, thats camera shake, although I liked the effect! Damn low light and no flash rules in museums……grrr!
    Cheers, Kelly
p.s Good to see you round the traps of late mate!

Welcome to the neighbourhood! You’re already one up on me - I’ve never been to the Powerhouse Museum and I’ve lived here for 6 years now :emb: I’d love to see some more pictures of Richmond - yeah I know I could drive here and see the cows for myself in person but I never get tired of the scenery.

    Hope you’re settling in easily:)

    Congratulations.

By the way does this mean you’re wearing blue next state of origin :) :hat:

Hey Mike! Can’t believe you haven’t been in there! It’s amazing…get off you butt and just do it. Well worth the trip into town. Only an hour and a half on the train from Richmond!!! I will be taking the camera out for a few trips around Richmond, and Windsor once Zoe goes back to school. They get sick of me stopping to take pics all the time and I’ve seen at least a thousand that I want to take so far
    Cheers, Kelly
ps. as for wearing blue or maroon? Neither! I’m not really into it, but have always gone for blue anyway. Zoe was actually born in Sydney!

Mike I’m kind of hoping she was wearing blue anyway…i have a husband who would turn purple if she wore maroon!
    go the blues!!

Doesn’t really matter seeing as how I think I was wearing yellow for the last one! You know I only watch to give Mark shit about going backwards and the horsey jumps and lining up like school boys…hehehehe
